I brush my teeth and my tongue every morning, and I use mouthwash and leave for school with mint gum in my mouth. About an hour or so later, there is a bad breath taste, and I don't want to talk, because I know it kind of stinks. What can I do? I'm really self-conscious about it.

Also, my armpits sweat quite a bit. I usually have to wear a different shirt instead of the harder plasticy fabric shirts that everyone else wears so it doesn't show. I have tried 3 kinds of deodorant-antipersperants, and they are OK, but they're aren't taking care of the job. What can I do? Someone suggested Drysol antipersperant. What should I do about this?

One more thing. My feet are pretty smelly when I take my sneakers off. And my feet sweat when I wear a certain pair of flip-flops that I really like. What can I do to stop the sweating?

I am 14. I never used to sweat like this and have bad breath like this before I hit puberty. Will it stay? Or will it pass? Thank you SOOO much!

Most of these will eventually pass, but in the meantime…

For the breath; for starters, don't chew gum. Chewing gum builds acids in your stomach that can make you feel bloated and even nauseated and the horridness of it all moves into your breath. Try actual hard mints, those are better, and the ones that don't last long in your mouth are even better. There are these small paper-thin mints that are excellent, especially when you know you're going to go talk to someone.

The armpits; go to the pharmacy and tell the pharmacist about it. There is a particular deodorant that you put on once a night or something that kind of stings like hell for about twenty minutes but is good at keeping the sweats off mostly during the day. My mother has this problem and this seemed to help her.

As for feet, there's a powder you can put under your feet and in your shoes. This I know from dealing with athletic friends, and they found that this helped.

All these are things you can get from a pharmacy. But you're young and you just hit puberty so things like this are bound to happen. Good luck.

i brush my tongue…and try to floss often…

it seems that my breath begins to smell or taste funny after about 20 minutes after I brush…isnt that odd? I am not a fan of gum, since i tend to swallow it a lot…

im not sure what to do…i guess i can ask my dentist…any good solutions?:

Let us go back to the basics. Bad breath is primarily caused by bacteria in your mouth that produces the bad smells. So if you brush and floss your teeth using a proper toothpaste and then properly clean your tongue to remove all of the bacteria you will have removed the cause of bad breath. Further, you could have a tonsil stone which your dentist can tell you about. Other than this, bad breath will come from smelly foods (like garlic) or drinks (like coffee) or smoking. The question I ask you back is: Are you properly cleaning your teeth and tongue to remove all of the bacteria?

I have braces, and I brush my teeth two times a day. i love chewing gum (usually stride spearmint), but i always manage to have nasty breath. I think i have a problem because mouthwash only helps for the first two hours

Also, things that i could take to school or shove in my pocket would be nice.

If you give me advice that you have used already and have been successful with, that would be awesome

Well I learned that if your breath smells bad and it seems like no matter how much you clean your tounge (where most of the smell comes from) it means you have digestive problems or an infection somewhere. Like food getting caught in your tooth and then growing infected. It's usually the digestive problem though.

A quick fix is cinnamon. Cinnamon actually takes away the smell
but if you want to really try to fix the problem, try to eat more fiber because if you aren't pooping at least once a day, that can cause problems.
